Reflexologist Brigitte Wiss is a fully qualified Reflexologist. Reflexology is art of pressing the acupressure points under the feet to detoxify the body, boost the Immune system and rebalance the organs and glands. Like chiropractic, reflexology balances the inner system. She studied reflexology at “The Institute for Integrated Therapies” in Vienna, VA with the known late teacher Margaret d’Urso, a student herself of the famous American physiotherapist Eunice Ingram. Brigitte has been involved in the holistic approaches since 1990. To provide more opportunity to help a wider range of conditions, although specializing in Reflexology, Brigitte has also been using Young Living Aromatherapy. She has also shared with the client different breathing techniques, guided them with positive thinking and integrated few minutes of healing and energy balancing at the end of the session when the client is opened to it. Brigitte’s techniques are more detailed and health oriented. You leave the session with a peaceful sense of well-being, rejuvenation and inner balance with your body starting to do some inner healing. Brigitte has been working with clients who are healthy but also runners, and clients who have arthritis, lyme disease, MS, fibromyalgia, tension headaches, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances (good for after pregnancy too), PMS, back/neck pain, plantar fasciitis and more. Reflexology is also used for post-operative or palliative care. A study in the American Cancer Society journal found that one-third of cancer patients used reflexology as a complementary therapy. Brigitte has helped pregnant women to encourage labor when overdue. Reflexology is recommended as a complementary therapy and should not replace medical treatment. Massage Therapist Pat Dunham is a nationally certified massage therapist who graduated with honors from AKS Massage School in Herndon, Virginia. She is also a Registered Nurse with an extensive career in nursing which includes nursing in hospitals on medical and surgical units, Intensive and critical care, home health care, oncology, and more recently in disease management. Pat was attracted to the profession of massage after experiencing relief from an ongoing pain condition for which no prior medical treatment had relieved. In addition, she found she missed the hands-on care provided when she first became a nurse, so decided to make a career change. Her focus is on deep relaxation and relief of stress and pain by integrating techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point, or Reiki. A specific area of interest is in senior massage, and she is currently working to start a program in a local assisted living facility. Pat enjoys learning new bodywork techniques and continues to study to improve her massage skills. Her goal is to help each client improve the quality of their life by assisting them in pain relief or reduction of stress.
